Relieve and prevent painful bunions

Bunion Pain Relief – Self Foot Care

Anyone who has bunions knows how painful bunions can be when irritated. The pain radiates from the big toe, and then the entire foot hurts. More time, pain flareups are preventable by wearing proper shoes with a wide toe box that doesn’t rub or squeeze the inflamed big toe.

The medical term for a bunion is Hallux Abducto- Valgus. A bunion is a swollen, and bony deformity develops at the first metatarsal bone of the big toe; the bone deformity causes the foot to turn outward while pushing the big toe inward and invades the remaining toes and pushes the remaining toes out of alignment. In most cases, a bunion appears on the side of the big toe, but it is not unusual for a bunion to develop at the fifth toe.

A bunion appearing on the fifth toe is call either tailor’s bunion or bunionette. A tailor’s bunion grows when the fifth metatarsal bone enlarges and pushes out to the side of the foot. Again this can be prevented by wearing proper footwear with a wide enough toe box that can accommodate all of the toes.
